Check out our songs page

On our songs page you will find a link to some of Harold's songs which we have enjoyed.
You will also be able to play a food pyramid game and make a poster.
You could print out your poster.
We would love to see it at school!

Gorgeous Harold

So many Rata Rua children enjoy making bracelets, rings and necklaces using their rainbow looms.
Harold's (our two legged Harold!) sister visited Harold (our four legged friend!) with her class too.
Harold talked about friendship. At home Beatrix and Harold (our Harold) decided to make a friendship bracelet for Harold (the Giraffe).
Harold loved them and took a photo of himself wearing them.
What a kind and thoughtful thing to do.
I hope everyone has fun at the disco tonight.
I wonder if you will be wearing a rainbow loom bracelet.....

But Where Is Harold?

Today we visited Harold for our last session.
Guess what? Harold wasn't there.
He had packed a picnic basket and 3, 2, 1, 0...had blasted off into space for a picnic!

Guess what?
He had forgotten to take his picnic basket.
We took a peak into his basket to see if he had packed a good variety of healthy foods to give him energy.

We found foods for every meal of the day...

Harold remembered to pack some of all the healthy foods in our food pyramid.

Clever Harold.

We will be packing our own healthy basket tomorrow.
I wonder if we will remember to pack a variety of foods?

Harold's Picnic

Today we met a giraffe called Harold...

Harold talked about healthy eating. He used a new word: variety.
This word reminds us to eat lots of different types of food to give our body ...
energy for all the things we do each day.

We built a food pyramid to learn which foods our body needs most of.

Eat most of fruit and vegetables, bread and cereals. Eat some things made of milk and meat.
Only have treats sometimes. They have some sneaky things in them that our body doesn't need very much of.

We met a doll called Tam who taught us what is under the skin, in our bodies.
I wonder what we will learn tomorrow?

Strike Percussion

On Friday these amazing musicians performed for us in the hall.
Maybe Rata Rua should have a set of drums in our space....

Cross Country

Dear Rata Rua,
Congratulations to you all!
You were awesome running around the field.
I enjoyed watching everyone do their best.
Your smiles and hard work gave our family and friends a great time.

Cross Country Stars

Today we had our school cross country races.
The whole school sat together in the middle of the bottom field.
The Rata girls ran first, followed by the Rata boys.
We shared some of our thoughts and feelings about the day.
